Rituals world of experience

Rituals is known for their advent calendars. Every year, consumers eagerly look forward to what Rituals has come up with this year to count down to one of the most beautiful days of the year. For 2022, that is an advent calendar in the shape of a Christmas tree.

The spirit of Christmas, elaborated in a Rituals world of experience. In which consumers are taken through the Advent period in a catchy way and tempted to try out Ritual's products. This has been achieved down to the smallest detail, so that Advent 2022 will again be a magical experience.

The advent experience has become a full 360 experience. From social media assets to a full experience and product experience on the website. And this year also for the first time the advent calendar as a rich augmented reality experience at the consumer's home.

Ritual's assignment

The team was assigned to deliver a selection of assets for the holiday season: 3 calendars to model as a 'digital twin', 3 key visuals, a 30 second animation, 3 different versions of the movie (2D Calendar, 3D Calendar, 3D Premium Calendar)

For the website product detail page assets (PDP) separate renders of the products were produced, together with 360 degree renders of the calendars and reveal animations of the calendars.

Finally an Augmented reality version of all three calendars were made so that consumers could already admire the calendars at home. This experience was enhanced with extra animation in the style of the launch film.

From a concept to a storyboard to the final result

Lukkien translated the first concept into a storyboard and styling frames to capture the look and feel of the advent calendars. This was done in very close cooperation with the art directors of Rituals. The biggest challenge was to translate the printing techniques used by the printer of the calendars into an exact copy as a digital cgi asset.
